Minnesota Community Elevates Resident Services and Staff Efficiency by Launching Revize AI Chatbot
eTradeWire News/10824134
MOUNDS VIEW, Minn. - eTradeWire -- The City of Mounds View has officially launched the Revize AI Chatbot on its city website, providing residents with on-demand assistance and giving staff an effective new tool to improve information accuracy and accessibility. The addition of the AI-powered app reflects the city's goal of optimizing resident service delivery and aligns with its digital strategy for a full website refresh in 2026.
City staff said the decision to adopt the chatbot stemmed from a desire to strengthen the website experience for both residents and employees. "Our Council wanted a better, more robust website and with the new AI Chatbot Revize was offering, it seemed like a great idea," said Kari Tholkes, Deputy City Clerk, who led the training and refinement of the chatbot. "Knowing that our residents can access help from the website, 24/7/365, is a wonderful option to have."

Early interactions show the chatbot's immediate value. When a resident visited City Hall seeking information on drinking water quality, the chatbot quickly provided links to the correct pages. With the Revize AI Chatbot, residents find the information they seek in just one click, without having to pick up the phone or drive to City Hall. The Public Works department, including Administrative Assistant, Tracy Juell, expressed optimism about the app's convenience and intuitive design.
The AI Chatbot has also revealed inconsistencies and outdated information across the city's website, providing an unexpected internal benefit. "We are using the chatbot to revise what we have on our website," Tholkes shared. "Some of the information the chatbot pulls from is outdated, and having it show us where we can refresh information is very helpful." For example, when the police department asked about parking restrictions, the chatbot highlighted discrepancies that staff were able to correct. In another case, staff programmed the chatbot to provide specific utility bill due dates, streamlining a frequently asked question.

Tholkes noted that Revize's technical support has been "great" and easy to work with. Looking ahead, the city hopes to increase resident awareness about the new Revize AI Chatbot. Site visitors will find the new tool in the lower lefthand corner of the Mounds View homepage: www.moundsviewmn.org/
"We have been very pleased with our experience thus far," Tholkes added. "The chatbot is relatively new, but it's been very beneficial already. We can see that it will serve our residents well."
Joseph J. Nagrant, Revize VP of Business Development, says, "By integrating the Revize AI-powered chatbot into their government website, we're making public services faster, more accessible, and easier to understand for everyone."
