Medical Arts Clinic at River Road in Greenwood, MS Welcomes New Tenant Second Chance Healthcare
eTradeWire News/10796756
GREENWOOD, Miss. - eTradeWire -- The Medical Arts Clinic at 405 River Road has welcomed a new tenant in the West Hall wing of the building, Second Chance Healthcare, a clinic that provides mental and behavioral health services, including individual therapy for a variety of disorders and medication management. Additional services include occupational and employment services, including drug and pre-employment screenings, employment and school physicals, DOT exam, and TB testing. The clinic is led by Chakita Beverly, a nurse practitioner with specialties in adult gerontology primary care and psychiatric mental health.
"I opened Second Chance Healthcare because I believe everyone deserves access to affordable, confidential care," said founder and CEO Chakita Beverly. "Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet many people struggle to find the support they need. My goal is to provide a safe space where individuals can seek the help they deserve, without the burden of high costs or fear of judgment. I chose this location for its convenience, making it easy for people to access the care they need. The spacious, well-kept office is designed to offer a comfortable and welcoming environment, ensuring that every visit feels like a step toward healing."

Located in sight of the old Keesler Bridge in downtown Greenwood, the Medical Arts Building was one of the first medical clinics built in Greenwood using modern commercial construction standards. The clinic was built in 1962 by Dr. George Nassar, whose father, an immigrant building contractor from Lebanon, oversaw the project. Also notable, it was the first medical clinic with central air conditioning. The Medical Arts Clinic houses medical practices and clinics, along with a specialized business software and web applications IT services business.
"We've received quite a number of inquiries about leasing at the Medical Arts Clinic from a wide variety of types of businesses," said John Pittman Hey, building manager and chief programmer at GMT Corporation. "But our priority has always been to continue with Dr. Nassar's legacy and pursue medical and healthcare practices as the primary tenants at the building. Over the years, the building has been renovated and upgraded, but always held true to that core medical practice and healthcare focus."
