When asked why he wanted to have his collection sold on the show, Tucci answered; "I have a barn filled with antiques and treasures from my travels. The barn was becoming overwhelming filled. There was an opportunity to have the HGTV show Everything But The House, come to help auction off my items. I thought this is a great way to motivate me to actually clean out the barn and raise money for the local Open Land Trust organization and Sustainable Agriculture Farmers. It's an auction that charities will benefit from." Tucci went on saying, "when Lara Spencer rings your doorbell, you open the door and welcome her in."
