Produced and written by Axton and recorded at Sunset Sound (Hollywood) and Imirage Sound Lab, Same Old Story travels through outlaw country, soulful rock, psychedelic blues, and bluegrass, drawing comparisons to The Allman Brothers Band, Johnny Cash, Gary Clark Jr., and Sturgill Simpson.
"The songs deal with loss, greed, vanity, and the pursuit of riches," says Axton, "but they always come back to finding the light and the joy. That's the throughline—no matter what, we find the joy."
The EP release party serves as a joyful punctuation mark on that message—an open invitation to step away from the noise, reconnect, and celebrate music made in the spirit of togetherness.
