Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach hosts successful Day of Service
eTradeWire News/10773632
FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - eTradeWire -- Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach proudly hosted a Day of Service on June 19, inviting both employees and members of the public to participate in a community cleanup event along San Carlos Blvd. between Main St. and Siesta Drive. The initiative, which had been rescheduled from its original date of June 13 due to a tropical wave, saw a heartening turnout and significant community impact.
Despite the change in schedule, 65 dedicated individuals, including approximately equal numbers of local residents and resort employees, gathered from 8 to 10 a.m. to contribute their time and effort. Among the volunteers was Margaritaville's general manager, Yenier Marrero Gonzalez, who worked alongside the team to collect an impressive 120 bags of trash.
"The support we received for this event was truly remarkable," said Yenier Marrero Gonzalez, general manager of Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach. "It was wonderful to see so many people come together to make a positive impact on an area that has needed our attention since Hurricane Ian. Our community's resilience and willingness to help never cease to amaze me."

The Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) played a crucial role in the event's success, making several trips to transport the collected trash to the dump. Their assistance ensured that the area was not only cleaned but also properly maintained.
Sheri Villani, the human resources director at Margaritaville Beach Resort, Audra Miller, human resources manager and Mariah Savard, human resources specialist organized the event.
"I am incredibly pleased with the level of participation we saw today. The enthusiasm and commitment of both our employees and residents were inspiring," said Sheri Villani, human resources director at Margaritaville Beach Resort. "We are already looking forward to planning our next Day of Service and hope to see even more community members join us."
The Day of Service underscores Margaritaville Beach Resort's commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship. By addressing local needs and fostering a spirit of collaboration, the resort aims to continue making meaningful contributions to the Fort Myers Beach area.
