"Black & Published" Podcast Joins Lineup Celebrating Black Literary Voices

WASHINGTON - eTradeWire -- MahoganyBooks, the Black-owned bookstore known for elevating African American literature, is expanding its influence with the MahoganyBooks Podcast Network, the only Black-owned podcast network dedicated to Black books. The network features a range of podcasts dedicated to celebrating Black authors, exploring literary culture, and offering exclusive insights into the publishing industry. The network also includes recasts of live author events hosted by MahoganyBooks. The newest addition to the network, launching on September 24, 2024, is the "Black & Published" podcast, hosted by Emmy Award-winning producer and author Nikesha Elise Williams. "Black & Published" is where Black writers share their journeys, offering a candid look at their challenges, triumphs, and experiences in a publishing world that often overlooks their voices.

"This partnership is a natural evolution of our mission to uplift Black stories and authors," said Derrick and Ramunda Young, co-founders of MahoganyBooks. "Together, MahoganyBooks and 'Black & Published' will provide another platform for Black creatives and highlight powerful stories that deserve the spotlight. We're excited to deepen our connection with our community and continue inspiring future generations of readers and writers."

Williams expressed her enthusiasm for joining the MahoganyBooks Podcast Network, stating, "I am thrilled to be a part of this network. When I started 'Black & Published,' my goal was to give authors a space to share their stories and the journey of getting their work into the world—whether they self-published like I did initially or were traditionally published like I am now."

The MahoganyBooks Podcast Network, launched in January 2024, is already home to "Real Ballers Read," which encourages young people to embrace the joy of reading. Coming in October 2024, the "Readers of Black Genius" podcast will further expand the network's commitment to amplifying Black literary voices.
