Larson-Danielson Volunteers Clean up La Porte Parks, Trails

Employees of Larson-Danielson Construction in La Porte, Ind. contributed roughly 30 hours of their time to clean up trails around Clear Lake and the Chessie Trail.
LA PORTE, Ind. - eTradeWire -- Larson-Danielson Construction recently supported the City of La Porte with a hands-on community service effort to help improve local parks and trails.
On Friday, April 3, nine volunteers gathered at the Fox Park Pavilion to clean up the trails surrounding Clear Lake and the Chessie Trail. Together, the group contributed 30 hours of service and collected more than 12 bags of trash from the area.
Items removed from the trails included plastic and glass bottles, to-go drink cups, candy wrappers, and plastic grocery bags. The team also found a few more unexpected items along the way, including a pair of shoes, a waffle iron, foam insulation sheets, and golf balls.
The cleanup was coordinated by Heather CyGan, Larson-Danielson human resources generalist, in partnership with Mark Schreiber, superintendent of the City of La Porte Park and Recreation Department.

"Our community is fortunate to have such wonderful natural spaces, and we believe it's our responsibility to invest our time and sweat equity in caring for and preserving these gifts," Heather CyGan said.
