Kuester Management Group Reflects on Tasks for HOAs to Wrap Up the Year
eTradeWire News/10712760
Kuester Management Group highlights activities for the HOA to engage in before the year ends to prepare for the new year.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - eTradeWire -- Another year is quickly coming to a close, and as schedules get busier and HOA members celebrate the holidays, it is important to make sure that some key tasks are completed before ringing in the New Year. Kuester Management Group has released a statement to the press regarding ways HOAs can prepare so they can get 2023 off to a strong start.
"A meaningful activity that homeowners will appreciate is to provide a year in review newsletter that highlights the wonderful things the HOA has done and achieved throughout the year," says Bryan Kuester, President of Kuester Management Group. "Showcase major projects that have been completed and fun community celebrations. Take a moment to thank homeowners for their continued support and participation and encourage them to get involved next year."

From a business perspective, the HOA should work on closing out the books and organizing its financials in preparation for tax season, says Kuester. Don't forget to send out any required annual disclosures before December 31st and finalize the budget for the upcoming year.
The board should also review any upcoming projects or events and make sure that appropriate funds, resources, and contracts are in place to prevent delays. The end of the year can also be a great time to plan ahead for improvements or projects that the board would like to undertake in the future. Ask for homeowner input on any changes they would like to see and keep them informed about any plans.
"The board may also want to set its own resolutions for 2023," says Kuester. "Does it want to send out a community newsletter more consistently? Hold a certain number of events per month? Cut back on expenses by a specific amount? Hire an HOA management team to outsource some responsibilities? Set goals that are realistic and attainable."
