Kuester Management Group Offers Insight on Handling HOA Parking Issues

eTradeWire News/10731966
Kuester Management Group reflects on common parking complaints and how the HOA can be proactive in minimizing problems.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - eTradeWire -- With warmer weather, longer daylight hours, and kids out of school, many families use the summer as a prime time to host get togethers with family and friends. However, this can lead to an increased number of vehicles in the neighborhood and create problems when it comes to parking. Kuester Management Group has released a statement to the press regarding the ways the HOA can address parking challenges.

"For many neighborhoods, parking is at a premium," says Bryan Kuester, President of Kuester Management Group. "Having cars stopped along both sides of the street can be a safety hazard and slow the flow of traffic. It can also frustrate neighbors."

If parking is an issue, talk to homeowners and gather their input, says Kuester. What are some problems they have noticed? What are some proposed solutions? What rules would they like to see added or changed? Get homeowners involved in the decision-making process since any changes would likely affect them.

Then, make sure that there are clear rules and guidelines when it comes to where homeowners and guests can park, what types of vehicles can be parked where, and how long they can stay there. The board should take into consideration whether the neighborhood has public or private roads and what the laws around them are.

"Communicate the rules to homeowners, especially during the summer and around holidays when the number of visitors increases," says Kuester. "Encourage neighbors to talk to one another and give advanced notice if they are having a party or expect more cars than normal to be parked in the area. If possible, ask guests to carpool, or direct them to a designated visitors or overflow lot."

Kuester Management Group partners with HOAs to address concerns, resolve problems, and improve communication within the association whether around parking, board meetings, rule changes or enforcement, or other situations. Learn more about the company and its services by visiting www.kuester.com.
