ISB and Partners Denounce the Attacks on Al-Aqsa

All Worshipers and their Holy Places Must be Honored and Respected

ATLANTA - eTradeWire -- The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta, together with Bishop Robert Wright of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, Rev. Dr. Gerald Durley, and Rabbi Joshua Lesser, denounce the recent attacks on Muslim worshippers inside Al-Aqsa mosque during the holy month of Ramadan. We are heartbroken by these attacks as we are when any worshippers are attacked in their sacred spaces. While attacks on Muslim worshippers are deeply troubling any time they occur, these attacks during Islam's holiest of months in one of the holiest of sites, are particularly egregious.

We implore all parties to cease hostilities immediately.  As people and organizations who work to build bridges across faith, racial, ethnic and political divides, we understand that changing hearts and minds is hard work.  We also know that dialogue, not violence is the only path to peace.  Together, we pray for a lasting peace when religious worshippers of all faiths feel safe and secure in their holy places, when conversation and education are honored above fighting and when we all work together towards a better world.
