Ingleside Homes Receives $5,000 Award from the WSFS CARES Foundation for Health Equity Fund Program
eTradeWire News/10828746
Seniors trying to maintain dignity while aging in place, struggle with a financial gap for housing. Donations from local businesses ease financial burdens for vulnerable seniors.
WILMINGTON, Del. - eTradeWire -- Larry Cessna, President and CEO of Ingleside Homes, Inc., accepted a $5,000 award on behalf of the nonprofit from the WSFS CARES Foundation, the charitable giving arm of WSFS Financial Corporation. This award provides funding to support affordable housing for low-income seniors through Ingleside's Health Equity Fund program.
Ingleside helps to provide shelter to those at risk of homelessness by offering affordable housing to low-to-moderate income individuals and delivers essential services for seniors with disabilities, chronic illness, and limited mobility. The support from the WSFS CARES Foundation ensures these services remain accessible to seniors.
The WSFS CARES Foundation awards grants for initiatives that are innovative, creative, sustainable and replicable with one of its areas of focus on affordable housing. Together, the WSFS CARES Foundation and Ingleside help sustain vibrant and thriving communities in the Delaware area.
Ingleside enhances quality of life by stabilizing housing, reducing isolation, and promoting dignity among older adults. The organization partners with hospitals, local government, and community organizations to strengthen Delaware's safety net and prevent costly public crises.
Over $14 million in funding has been raised by local organizations to support Ingleside since 2003. "We award over $220,000 in Health Equity funding annually to assist seniors in our community," stated Larry Cessna. "We are grateful for the WSFS CARES Foundation whose generosity has positive and direct impact on the lives of many seniors."
