Independent Presidential Candidate & Charleston Native Jade Simmons Sets Out On A Tour of South Carolina to Gather 10,000 Signatures To Secure Spot on November Ballot in Home State

CHARLESTON, S.C. - eTradeWire -- Earlier this year, Charleston native and 2020 Independent Presidential Candidate Jade Simmons launched an unexpected independent run for President of the United States with her campaign Operation Restoration 2020. She returns to South Carolina July 3-15 with a team of 100 volunteers on a mission to gather at least 10,000 signatures that she needs in order to be listed on the state's ballot in November.

Simmons is currently listed as a registered write-in option for president in 41 states. South Carolina is 1 of 8 states that require independent candidates such as Simmons to gather 5% of the state's voters from the last election in order to get on the ballot. The other states include Mississippi, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Arkansas, South Dakota, Nevada and New Mexico (which Simmons and her team just left last week).

Starting in Charleston on July 3rd, Simmons and her team will also take ground in other cities including Greenville, Columbia, Aiken, Orangeburg, and Beaufort.

"My team and our volunteers are committed to the goal of gathering at least 10,000 signatures, because we believe that Americans in all states should know there is a third option and have access to vote for all presidential candidates. It is especially important to me that this goal is accomplished in my home state that I love,  South Carolina."

"Home has always been a place of refuge where family and friends have loved me powerfully. Coming back now for the purpose of getting on the ballot in South Carolina is humbling," said Simmons. "It gives me the opportunity to serve my home state powerfully and to give them an option they can trust will keep them top of heart and mind."

Operation Restoration - The mission of Operation Restoration, the campaign of Jade Simmons, is to 1) to restore the United States of America to its' God-given identity of being a unified nation, that honors God and serves ALL people, 2) to strip away the dysfunctional practices of divisive politics and bring forth a new lane of leadership that prioritizes people over profit, political games, and personal agendas and 3) to give voice to the voiceless and the "muted middle" – those individuals that don't fully agree with the left side or the right side but believe there is a place in the middle where we can honorably meet and find common ground on the issues that matter to our country.
