'Small Biz Heroes' provides aid to small businesses threatened by pandemic

SAN FRANCISCO - eTradeWire -- Just two weeks after their official launch, a new startup founded to support small businesses surviving the coronavirus pandemic is taking off.

"Small Biz Heroes" was founded in April to connect small businesses with "heroes" who can provide them with free professional support services delivered by skilled professionals willing to share pro bono expertise on how to successfully navigate through the crisis.

The project has grown to more than 12k followers on Instagram as of mid-July.

In addition to quickly building a vibrant Instagram community and as their international following grows, startup founder and Google employee Brandon Youra
and his team have rolled out a new feature on the web platform allowing users to filter by language spoken.

"Since businesses everywhere are feeling the pain of the pandemic, we wanted to make our resources accessible to our members across language boundaries," Youra said. "Our platform is now updated with a language filter to help small businesses connect with heroes who can communicate in the language they're most comfortable with. With this update, language is no longer a barrier to get the help your small business deserves."
