IMMOKALEE, Fla. - eTradeWire -- The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance was recently awarded Non-Profit Impact of the Year at the Immokalee Eastern Chamber of Commerce's Annual Member Recognition Dinner on April 3.
Over the past year, Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance has made great strides in providing safe and affordable housing for Immokalee's hardworking farmworkers and low-income families, thanks to the generosity and dedication of volunteers, donors and supporters.
Construction was completed on the first of eight planned affordable apartment buildings and 16 families moved into their new two- and three-bedroom apartments. Additionally, Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance unveiled Hart Place, a playground in the heart of the apartment complex that was opened to resident children in March.
At the chamber's Annual Member Recognition Dinner, themed "An Evening with the Stars," Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance was among several other businesses, leaders and community partners who were recognized for their efforts throughout Eastern Collier County. Guests enjoyed an elegant night of networking, special awards, a raffle and silent auction, and heartfelt tributes.
