Hospice of South Texas® Announces Full Funding for New Support Services Building
eTradeWire News/10824091
Transformational gift from the M. G. and Lillie A. Johnson Foundation completes the $750,000 goal
VICTORIA, Texas - eTradeWire -- Hospice of South Texas (HOST) is grateful to announce that the Support Services Building is now fully funded. This milestone was reached through a remarkable $700,000 gift from the M. G. and Lillie A. Johnson Foundation and the generous support of many additional donors. Their partnership ensures continued access to nonprofit, compassionate hospice care for families across twelve South Texas counties.
The new Support Services Building will serve as the central home for the organization's durable medical equipment services and storage (DME). This investment strengthens the hospice's ability to deliver timely, well prepared medical equipment for patients receiving care at home, in nursing facilities, and at the Dornburg Center of Compassion.
"Our mission is to walk with patients and families through their most tender moments with dignity and compassion," said Laurie Eder, Chief Executive Officer. "The M. G. and Lillie A. Johnson Foundation has made a profound commitment to that mission. We are humbled by their generosity and by the many donors who helped bring this project to life."

Construction preparation is underway, and HOST anticipates moving into the new building in late summer 2026. The Support Services Building will enhance readiness, streamline equipment delivery, and support the continued excellence of the only nonprofit hospice in the region with an inpatient center and a five star Medicare rating.
