Historic First: Broward County Bar Assoc Elects Diana Castrillon First Hispanic Female President
eTradeWire News/10837523
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - eTradeWire -- The Broward County Bar Association (BCBA) has made history with the election of Attorney Diana I. Castrillon as its first Hispanic female president in its 100-year history. This milestone marks a defining moment in South Florida's legal community.
A respected leader and seasoned Workers' Compensation attorney who has been representing injured workers in Florida for over 25 years, Castrillon has long championed initiatives aimed at expanding access to justice, mentoring young attorneys, and strengthening collaboration between the legal profession and the communities it serves. Her presidency represents both a personal achievement and a collective step forward for representation in the legal field.
"This moment is about so much more than just me—it's about carving out new paths through representation and opening doors for others who never saw themselves reflected in leadership," said President-Elect Castrillon. "The Broward County Bar Association is always leading the way by evolving to reflect the community it serves—vibrant, diverse, and united in purpose."

The installation of President Castrillon marks a new chapter in the organization's long-standing commitment to progress, professionalism, and public service.
"We are proud to celebrate this historic milestone," said Braulio Rosa, BCBA Executive Director. "Her leadership exemplifies the future of the legal profession—dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking."
