Heirloom: Guitar Amplifies America's Musical Heritage on Documentary Showcase
eTradeWire News/10810569
LOS ANGELES - eTradeWire -- Scientology Network's DOCUMENTARY SHOWCASE, the weekly series providing a platform for Independent filmmakers to air films on important social, cultural and environmental issues, presents the world broadcast premiere of Heirloom: Guitar on July 18, 2025.
DOCUMENTARY SHOWCASE airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Scientology Network.
Heirloom: Guitar traces the evolution of the acoustic guitar—from a quiet parlor instrument to an icon of American music. Through archival footage and intimate performances, the documentary reveals how the acoustic guitar helped shape the cultural, social and sonic landscape of America.
Director Daniel Putkowski's fascination with the instrument's legacy drives Heirloom: Guitar. Guided by insights from Professor of Musicology Greg Reish and granted rare access to a master luthier and major guitar manufacturers, Putkowski traces the instrument's journey from workshop to world stage. The film offers a fascinating look at the guitar's profound cultural resonance.
ABOUT DANIEL PUTKOWSKI
Daniel Putkowski began his creative journey as a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He explored filmmaking before turning to writing, where he rose to prominence with a #1 bestselling novel. He built a compelling literary oeuvre, garnering praise from outlets like CNN and the Philadelphia City Paper. Daniel then returned to his visual storytelling roots, pivoting to documentary filmmaking and ultimately his directorial debut in Heirloom: Guitar.

In an interview with SCIENTOLOGY NETWORK for DOCUMENTARY SHOWCASE, Daniel conveyed his hopes for the film:
"What I hoped to achieve with this film was to show how the guitar and culture evolved together and how these instruments are living things—they're not inanimate objects. They don't sit on a shelf. They're played, and each generation, each culture interacts with each other, and the guitar goes along with us."
