Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida hires Dr. Douglas Brian Keck and promotes Cathy Brockman

NAPLES, Fla. - eTradeWire -- Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida is pleased to announce the following staff changes: Dr. Douglas Brian Keck to serve as dental director and Cathy Brockman as director of nursing.

"Hiring and promoting talented, compassionate staff allows our organization to accelerate improvement of services and provide high-quality, integrated health care for our patients," said Dr. Emily Ptaszek, who was named president and chief executive officer (CEO) in August. "The team supports our vision to strengthen health in the community by connecting the dots of oral health and overall health throughout life."

Keck will provide comprehensive pediatric dental care in several sites as well as lead the pediatric dental residency program at Nichols Community Health Center which is scheduled to open in spring 2020.  The NYU Langone Pediatric Dental Residency program will support the growing need for pediatric and family oral healthcare in the Golden Gate Community. In September, Keck was inducted into the American College of Dentists, whose mission is to advance excellence, ethics, professionalism and leadership in dentistry. Prior to joining Healthcare Network, Keck was associate director of the Rhode Island site of NYU Langone Dental pediatric dentistry residency program and in private dental practice in New Haven and Madison, Conn. for 25 years. A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, he completed his pediatric post-doctoral specialty training at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine and Children's Hospital Boston. In addition to his American Board of Pediatric Dentistry certification, Keck has a Master of Science degree in higher education from Drexel University.

Brockman will be responsible for overseeing nursing operations of all Healthcare Network medical facilities while maximizing nursing efficiency and proficiency to provide high quality care and ensure safety to more than 51,000 patients in Collier County. She was hired as Healthcare Network's infection prevention and quality coordinator in April. Her career has included home health nursing, nurse management and pharmaceutical sales, primarily for women's health, for more than 30 years in Naples and the Detroit, Mich. area. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Madonna in Livonia, Mich. www.HealthcareSWFL.org
