eTradeWire News/10766550
BLACKSBURG, Va. - eTradeWire -- Nikita Harris, an undergraduate student at the University of Houston, is the inaugural winner of the 2024 Editor World First-Generation Student Scholarship. The Editor World Scholarship is an award to assist a first-generation student with educational expenses such as books and supplies. A first-generation student is an individual whose parent(s) have not attended or completed a 4-year college or university degree, regardless of other family members' level of education. Editor World's founder was a first-generation student and understands the unique challenges faced by students in this group.
Editor World, an online writing, editing, and proofreading services marketplace, is committed to helping students achieve their goal of pursuing higher education. One scholarship per year will be awarded to a first-generation student who chooses to attend a technical school, university, or earn a certificate that furthers their career goals. A second annual scholarship will be focused on first-generation graduate students.
Editor World's scholarship program was established in 2023. More than 1,000 applications were submitted by students living throughout the United States. Applicants were asked to include an essay discussing what motivates them to pursue a certificate, degree, or other education. The winner of the inaugural award was selected in early 2024.
