The Healthcare Hero Award recognizes employees who consistently demonstrate an ability and willingness to work positively, respectfully and effectively with others. Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need live healthy, safe and productive lives. The organization sponsors Gulf Coast Village, which is Cape Coral's premier Continuing Care Retirement Community, as well as The Preserve, a skilled nursing and assisted living community in Fort Myers. Cason began working at Gulf Coast Village in June 2018 and is responsible for hiring, training and benefits management. She is a graduate of Cape Coral High School and attended Edison State College.
