The Minnesota Twins Community Fund's Southwest Florida Community Grants program provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Lee and Collier Counties that assist underserved families, helping them expand their services to more people in Southwest Florida. The Minnesota Twins and the club's minor league affiliates have called Lee County their spring training home since 1991, and it is also the year-round home of the Twins Player Development Academy, the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (Minnesota's Low-A affiliate) and the organization's rookie-level Florida Complex League Twins.
This year's Southwest Florida Community Grants total $50,000 to 31 local nonprofits, supporting a wide range of services including youth development, poverty alleviation, food insecurity, mental health services, environmental education, and more. Since its inception in 2015, the Southwest Florida Grants Program has granted more than $250,000 to support residents of Lee and Collier Counties. The Minnesota Twins Community Fund and its grant programs are supported in part by its cornerstone partners—Target, US Bank, Treasure Island, and Nike—and fans across Twins Territory.
