The Hanover Food Pantry Raises Record Numbers For Those In Need
HANOVER, Pa. - eTradeWire -- On April 30th and May 1st, 2026, God's Meal Barrel of Hanover, PA, participated in the Give Local York (GLY) day of giving event. Give Local York is a local day of giving in York County for nonprofits, which has helped hundreds of local nonprofits raise millions of dollars to advance their impact on the community. The event originated in 2018, and total fundraising for 2026 reached just over $6.1 million.
During Give Local York, God's Meal Barrel raised $3,135. While they did not hit their $5,000 goal, the amount raised is a record high for the local food pantry.
This was God's Meal Barrel's second time participating in Give Local York. The donations received will be used to purchase a variety of food items so patrons can receive the proper nutrients and care they deserve. Some portions will also be allocated towards a new facility for more food storage to better serve their patrons.
