eTradeWire News/10770979
MORRISTOWN, N.J. - eTradeWire -- More than 150 pieces created by Black and Afro-Latina artists will be exhibited for the first time at Art in the Atrium (ATA)—featuring esteemed master artist and art advocate, Nette Forné Thomas, officials said.
"We are really excited to highlight very strong work by women from all over the country, and it's an important perspective to highlight because we have our own unique perspective and experiences as women, especially as black women," Art in the Atrium's Simone Craig said.
The W.O.W.: Women's Outstanding Works ATA's 32nd annual signature exhibit is curated by seasoned artists Onnie Strother and Bisa Wendy Washington, featuring work by New Jersey's own Nette Forne Thomas.
"From Vintage Victorian to Victorious Visionaries is the way I see this exhibition of my art. In these I strive to express and arouse the varied emotions of day-to-day life in this present time and atmosphere by utilizing innovative usage and presentation of media in the treatment of my subjects," headlining artist, Nette Forne Thomas, says in her artist's statement.
ATA's annual exhibit is the largest and longest running of its kind in New Jersey. It also makes history as the first-ever, all-Black women art showing in Art in the Atrium's history.
