This innovative program invites writers from all backgrounds to submit compelling short film screenplays that explore themes of identity, belonging, and the experiences of minorities, immigrants, and underrepresented communities.
The M Film Lab has consistently been a champion of diverse narratives, amplifying authentic voices that often go unheard. With a mission to challenge perspectives and foster empathy through storytelling, the Spring 2025 Lab aims to uncover fresh and powerful narratives that shed light on minority experiences in society.

- Participants: The program will select six exceptional writers who will receive one-on-one mentorship from six experienced industry professionals
- Production Opportunity: At the conclusion of the lab, one winning screenplay will be optioned for production with an option fee of USD $1,500.
Submission Guidelines:
- Format: Short Film Screenplay (12-15 pages)
- Theme: Screenplays must explore themes tied to the experiences of minorities, immigrants, or underrepresented groups in society. Writers are encouraged to be bold, imaginative, and impactful in their storytelling.
- Deadline: Submissions must be received by May 16, 2025.
- Entry Fee: Free
