DALLAS - eTradeWire -- Dallas, TX – Alegre Ballet Folklórico will present EVOLUCIÓN, CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF ALEGRE BALLET FOLKLÓRICO taking place at EISEMANN CENTER, HILL PREFORMANCE HALL, RICHARSDON, TX on OCTOBER 14, 2023 , 7:00pm and featuring ALLEGRE BALLET FOLKÓRICO DANCERS ACCOMPANIED BY MARIACHI JALISCIENSE.
Alegre Ballet Folklórico, , a 501c3 Non-Profit dance troupe, was founded in September of 1993 by Pedro Perez II. Alegre's humble beginnings went from the Perez home back patio, to Kidd Springs and Martin Weiss Recreation Centers. In 1997 the Office of Arts and Culture allowed Alegre to have a home in the newly opened Ice House Cultural Center. When the Ice House closed its doors the group moved with the Office of Arts and Culture to the Oak Cliff Cultural Center. Alegre Ballet Folklorico now has a new home still in the Oak Cliff area. The new studio opened its doors at the beginning of January 2023. Over the past thirty years, Alegre has performed in numerous venues across the United States, including the AT&T Stadium and Walt Disney World, as well as internationally in Mexico and Oslo, Norway. Alegre also participates in local performances like the Oakcliff Cinco de Mayo parade, Dia de los Muertos at CocoAndre, Latino Cultural Center, Mountain View College Dance showcase, Oakcliff Cultural Center, Dallas Farmer Market, Latino Street Festival, and many more. Our dance troupes still participate in folklórico competitions and has received many awards and recognitions.

The group has consistently strived to uphold the value of preserving Mexican heritage through in-depth classes that equip dancers with the knowledge to share with others. This commitment to education and cultural preservation is at the heart of Alegre Ballet Folklórico's mission and continues to guide their work today. Alegre Ballet Folklórico will be accompanied by Mariachi Jalisciense.
