One of my most enduring memories of him was seeing how thrilled he was when we attended the Next Generation Indie Book Awards ceremony at the Harvard Club in New York City. It was his first literary award, and even more amazingly, it was for his first book, the book he dedicated to his late father Mal. John was more than a writer, he was a philosopher too. Moreover, his intellect and beautiful spirit will be sorely missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Brennan family.
