Ergonomics reimagined at virtual Applied Ergo Conference Aug. 4-6 … Registration open through July 30

NORCROSS, Ga. - eTradeWire -- The 23rd Applied Ergonomics Conference (AEC) attracts profession­als from around the world for an annual exchange of ideas and best practices in ergonomics, healthcare, safety, human resources and risk management. Originally scheduled for March in Louisville, Kentucky, the conference was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduled as a virtual event Aug. 4-6. Registration closes July 30.

"Each day will feature top-rated speakers and a panel discussion on a different focus area," said longtime AEC attendee and 2020 Conference Chair Julia Abate, executive director of The Ergonomics Center at North Carolina State University.

The virtual lineup includes advancements in ergonomics, with a panel discussion on exoskeleton use; ergonomics in action, with a panel discussion on Industry 4.0; and
office ergonomics, with a panel discussion on the role of ergonomists amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Another highlight will be AEC's Virtual Exhibit Hall featuring products, processes and innovation from several participating companies. Items on display will include robotic arms, exoskeletons, casters and carts, adjustable desks and ergonomically designed chairs, physical therapy solutions, software flooring and mats, force gauges, testing kits, property damage sensors and other wearables and solutions to minimize environmental impact. Hosted by the Applied Ergonomics Society (AES), an association within the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), AEC 2020 is open to all interested in the occupational ergonomics field. Incoming conference chair for AEC 2021 in New Orleans March 22-25, expressed excitement at the first virtual presentation of the event in August.
