Educational Honors Recognizes Exceptional Students at Third Annual Reception
eTradeWire News/10803695
From Brooklyn to Baltimore, students are honored for GPAs of 3.5+ — and the next class of achievers is invited to apply.
BALTIMORE - eTradeWire -- The Fashion Umbrella Foundation proudly hosted its third Educational Honors reception on April 19, 2025, celebrating academic excellence among youth in grades 6 through 12. Five outstanding students were recognized for their achievements, each holding a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for the academic year. Honorees included students from Baltimore, Maryland, and one from Brooklyn, New York — reflecting the national reach and inclusive mission of the Foundation.
Each honoree received a special citation from the Office of the Mayor of Baltimore City, with additional tokens of appreciation on the way. The Educational Honors program was established to uplift and encourage students who have demonstrated resilience, discipline, and scholastic excellence during the school year running from August to June.

"We created Educational Honors as a way to say, 'We see you. We celebrate you.' Our young achievers deserve the spotlight, not just in Baltimore, but across the country," said Sharan Nixon, Founder and Executive Director of the Fashion Umbrella Foundation.
The program, open to students across the United States, is now accepting registrations for those completing the 2024–2025 school year. Space is limited, and interested students or their guardians are encouraged to register early. The next recognition event will return to its regular December schedule, with the 2025 reception slated for December 2025. The final deadline to register is September 30, 2025.
All programs under the Fashion Umbrella Foundation, including Educational Honors, are open to participants nationwide—not just residents of Baltimore. This continued commitment to inclusivity helps the Foundation further its mission of supporting youth development, academic achievement, and community empowerment.
