Drug Addiction Recovery in Claremont Sustained by Community

The people of Claremont, New Hampshire are working together to ensure that drug addiction recovery services are available in Sullivan County.

CLAREMONT, N.H. - May 24, 2018 - eTradeWire -- The citizens of Claremont, New Hampshire are putting their collective efforts together to make sure that drug addiction recovery services are ready and available in Sullivan County.

There is currently no drug addiction recovery center in Claremont,  according to the 2017 National Directory of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Treatment Facilities.

Claremont is the only official city in Sullivan County and there is no sort of drug addiction treatment center in neighboring towns.

The only thing that comes close to drug treatment is the Claremont Recovery Center, an addiction recovery center with no formal designation since Hope for New Hampshire Recovery stated that they would stop their affiliation with the center in February. Claremont residents are attempting to find ways to create a permanent substance abuse treatment center.

Hope for New Hampshire Recovery had five locations originally — in Manchester, Concord, Berlin, Franklin and Claremont. However, they recently were forced to shut down the Claremont and Concord locations, forcing the community, to find the creative means to keep addiction treatment going in their town.

After Hope for New Hampshire Recovery shut down their partnership with them, the community has attempted to keep running the treatment center with any resources they could obtain.

In recent times, Sullivan County has been hurt by opioid abuse as there were .91 opioid overdose deaths per 10,000 last year, according to the New Hampshire Drug Monitoring Initiative.
