Dr. Karmetria Burton Partners with St. Jude Hospital for 'Kiss Sickle Cell Goodbye' with Signature Red Lip Campaign

eTradeWire News/10821105
ATLANTA - eTradeWire -- Dr. Karmetria Burton, founder of Paint Your Lips Red (PYLR), partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® in support of the Kiss Sickle Cell Goodbye campaign, launched this past September in recognition of Sickle Cell Awareness Month.

Sickle cell disease is the most common inherited blood disorder in the U.S., disproportionately impacting Black and Hispanic communities. As part of this impactful campaign, Dr. Burton used her signature red lip — a symbol of boldness and confidence through her PYLR movement — to raise awareness and inspire support for children and families affected by sickle cell disease.

As part of the social media national campaign, Dr. Burton amplified a message of advocacy and empowerment by wearing exclusive campaign merchandise, showcasing red lip looks curated by Black Radiance, and spotlighting innovative work in sickle cell awareness and treatment.

Dr. Burton shared her excitement about the collaboration:

"The red lip has always symbolized courage and confidence in my life and my mission. To now use it as a voice for children and families battling sickle cell disease is truly powerful. Partnering with St. Jude meant we are not only raising awareness, but we are also giving hope — and that's the most beautiful thing of all."

St. Jude has been a global leader in advancing treatment for sickle cell disease, offering compassionate care and pioneering research to ensure that no child faces this diagnosis alone. By bringing beauty and advocacy together, the Kiss Sickle Cell Goodbye campaign reminded the world that bold choices — and bold lips — can inspire meaningful change.
