Derby Leisure And Events Venue Launches New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

DERBY, U.K. - eTradeWire -- A Derby sport and leisure venue has reinforced its commitment to sustainability by investing £20,000 in four new electric vehicle charging stations.
Derby Leisure and Events Venue on Moor Lane in the city has installed four ChargePoint EV Charge Stations, which are conveniently located in the venue's car park and can be used by guests or members of the public and will be available 24 hours a day.
The installation of the charging points forms part of the company's environmental policy and underlines its commitment to decreasing its carbon footprint and becoming more environmentally focused.
The electronic vehicle market has expanded rapidly in recent years, with more than 260,000 new electric cars registered in 2022, up from 15,000 in 2018.
Sales of second-hand electric vehicles (EV) rose by more than 80% in the second quarter of the year too. More than 30,500 battery powered vehicle changed hands in the three months to June 2023, an 81.8% rise on the same period last year.*

Commenting on the installation of the new electric charging points, Colin Bancoft, managing director at DLEV, said:
"We are committed to doing everything we can to remain sustainable and protect the environment. We recognise that many of our customers are switching to electric and hybrid vehicles and can now accommodate them with charging points conveniently located in our car park.
"The new charging points are a fantastic new addition to our facilities and form part of our commitment to remaining at the forefront of sustainable developments in the hospitality sector."
Situated on the outskirts of Derby city centre, Derby Leisure and Events Venue offers a variety of sporting, leisure and hospitality services from a 30-acre complex.
The former Rolls-Royce Leisure site offers a unique combination of social, sporting and hospitality facilities. This includes dining at The Pavilion restaurant and the popular Charlie's.

It boasts three wedding and function suites, seating up to 170 guests and surrounded by beautifully maintained fields and enclosed gardens, along with nine conference rooms, fully equipped for meetings and conferences, training days and seminars.
The complex also offers a varied programme of entertainment, with monthly Soul & Motown nights, Family Nights and Wedding Fayres. The Club also more than 30 arts and sports clubs.
DLEV also has its own state-of-the-art Fitness Centre, along with a whole host of other indoor and outdoor sporting facilities, including tennis courts, 5-a-side football, and rugby pitches, which are all available to members and non-members.
Anyone looking to charge their vehicle at Derby Leisure and Events Venue can do so via the ChargePoint App or via card payment from the unit itself.
