NEW YORK - eTradeWire -- Democracy at Work and the Left Forum just announced they are hosting an engaging and enlightening four-week seminar offering a critical analysis of Capitalism, questioning its position as the dominant economic system. The course is based on renowned economist Richard D. Wolff latest book published by Democracy At Work, entitled "Understanding Capitalism". This course is designed for individuals seeking an alternative perspective to capitalism and a comprehensive understanding of socialist theory, this seminar will explore the various economic systems employed by humanity that have come and gone throughout the centuries and positively answers the question: "can we do better than capitalism?"
Commencing on October 7, 2024, Richard Wolff will explain what capitalism is and is not – showing why very different definitions matter. He will dissolve the many myths that obscure how capitalism works. Together we will analyze capitalism's problems by thinking and going beyond capitalism to specific alternative systems. As capitalism faces increasing scrutiny and powerful questions about its ability to solve accumulated social, economic and personal problems, this lecture series and the book provides a condensed exploration of these issues and intends to provide an opportunity to teach, learn and foster dialogue amongst students, activists and anyone who is interested.
