Could a Game of Bingo Trigger World Peace? Meet the Social Movement Finding Out
eTradeWire News/10804491
A powerful question, a game of bingo, and an attempt to create world peace.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia - eTradeWire -- A grassroots initiative called World Peace Attempt is turning heads by proposing a simple, unconventional idea: world peace can be achieved through a social media game and the anointing of a special question.
Far more than performative virtue-signalling, World Peace Attempt aims to directly impact political behaviour using The Simple Question:
"How are we going to create a world without any war?"
The movement's creators propose that, with the support of the online community, this question can be elevated into a socially upheld tradition — podcasters, journalists, and ordinary citizens ask it of leaders and politicians whenever the opportunity arises. With persistence and repetition, it becomes a defiant feature of the modern political landscape, placing meaningful pressure on policymakers to look at peace from a fresh perspective. World peace comes to be viewed as a realistic objective, rather than a utopian dream not worth taking seriously. The question influences policy decisions, and the responses, shared online, influence how people vote.

In an effort to embed the question into the collective consciousness, the team created World Peace Bingo — an online bingo game, where the names of influential figures serve as the numbers on the bingo ticket. When someone on the board tags @WorldPeaceBingo on social media, they're "marked." A straight line of marked names across the ticket means everybody wins.
"In a civilized society equipped with today's technology, leaders should be having an open discussion about ending war altogether. They don't seem to have much of a plan right now, so we're giving them a playful nudge. A fun and silly online game that makes asking The Simple Question a new civic duty can stamp world peace on the global political agenda."
The campaign emphasizes the shift from traditional media, where news was vetted by a few large corporations, to podcasts, independent journalism, and unfiltered longform interviews. The appearance of Donald Trump on Joe Rogan's podcast marked a significant shift: the podcast circuit is now the election battleground. In this transition, World Peace Attempt sees a unique opportunity for citizenry to take control of the type of questioning politicians face.

Like watching a group of strangers push a stranded car out of harm's way, there's something beautiful about seeing society make an attempt at world peace. Whether it's reaching out to somebody named on the bingo ticket, asking The Simple Question, or just following, liking and sharing — anyone can be part of it. (Including you!)
