Colorado Gives Day: Support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado and Help Empower Youth Statewide
eTradeWire News/10823130
DENVER - eTradeWire -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC) is inviting community members to come together this Colorado Gives Day, December 9, 2025, to support the young people we serve statewide. This past year, BBBSC reached 1,660 youth in the Denver Metro and Pikes Peak regions through one-to-one mentoring, school-based programs, and post-secondary readiness support, made possible by generous community involvement.
Nearly 300 young people, primarily boys, are still waiting to be matched with mentors who can offer consistent encouragement, connection, and guidance. Colorado Gives Day provides a meaningful opportunity for donors to help expand programming so more youth receive the support they deserve.
BBBSC's FY25 Annual Report highlights the realities many youth navigate: 70% live in single-parent households, 41% rely on income assistance, and 15% have a parent who is incarcerated. Yet youth in our programs continue to show determination and growth when paired with a mentor who shows up for them.

This year, BBBSC mentors volunteered 46,416 hours, providing steady support that contributes to strong outcomes: 81% of mentored youth feel more confident in decisions about school, life, and work, and they are 20% more likely to graduate high school and pursue college. Another 765 students benefited from school-based programs that foster leadership, belonging, and healthy decision-making, while teens in Big Futures developed clear post-secondary plans, including college, trade programs, military pathways, and workforce opportunities.
"Every young person deserves a champion in their corner," said Elycia Cook, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado. "On Colorado Gives Day, your donation isn't just a gift, it's a lifeline, a moment when you step in and say: I see you. I believe in you. I'm with you."
Colorado Gives Day support strengthens BBBSC's core programming, including Community-Based 1:1 Mentoring, school-based programs like STARS and Project AIM, and Big Futures, which ensures teens graduate high school with a clear plan for what comes next. All eligible gifts qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit, allowing many donors to receive 50% of their contribution back on state taxes while increasing their impact for Colorado youth.

Donations can be made at ColoradoGives.org/organization/bbbsc. Early giving began November 1, and all contributions through December 9 count toward the statewide effort.
"Colorado Gives Day is about the power of community," said Cook. "And when a community chooses to invest in its children, everyone wins. Together, we can ensure every young person is ready to reach their full potential."
