Checkmate Your Competition: Lawyers Learn Chess Strategy from Grandmasters
eTradeWire News/10777953
ST. LOUIS - eTradeWire -- Can mastery of the chessboard correlate to legal victories? The Association of Corporate Counsel St. Louis Chapter is willing to put their skills to the test and find out. This fall, members will embark on a unique journey to master the art of strategy and outsmart the competition – all while earning valuable CLE credits.
The Chapter is partnering with the World Chess Hall of Fame to offer members three exclusive chess classes taught by Grand Masters in Residence, culminating in a CLE event that explores the importance of strategy in litigation. Each class will delve into the intricacies of chess, learning how to apply ancient wisdom to modern legal challenges.
"Chess is more than just a game; it's a mental workout," said Jennifer Denny, Senior Litigation Counsel at Cardinal Financial, and the organizer who is the Chair of the Chapter's Litigation Practice Area Network (PAN) group. "By understanding the strategic mindset of a Grand Master, lawyers can develop a sharper eye for detail, improve their decision-making, and ultimately achieve better outcomes for their employers."
