Chandra Donelson Joins Navy Federal for "Bring Your Kid to Work Day"
eTradeWire News/10803549
VIENNA, Va. - eTradeWire -- Author and data leader Chandra Donelson participated in Navy Federal Credit Union's Bring Your Kid to Work Day, where she partnered with members of the organization's data and analytics teams to lead an interactive session that introduced children to the world of data.
The event welcomed children of Navy Federal employees and focused on making data engaging, hands-on, and age-appropriate. With Donelson's guidance, children participated in a full data lifecycle activity—including collecting data, analyzing patterns, and storytelling through presentation.
The highlight of the session was an interactive exercise where kids worked in teams to explore a problem, record their findings, and present their insights—giving them an early glimpse into how data drives decisions in the real world.

"When kids see how data helps us solve problems and tell stories, it builds confidence and curiosity," Donelson said. "And when we make it fun, they realize it's something they can do too."
The event also included a data-themed scavenger hunt, prize giveaways, and creative activities. Two participants were awarded signed copies of Donelson's book, The Data Detective at the Carnival, and every child received a certificate of participation and themed stickers to commemorate the experience.
The event reflected Navy Federal's commitment to building early STEM awareness and literacy among the families it serves. Donelson's participation added an inspiring, educational, and personal touch to the experience.
