Celtae Arboreum - Fine Art Show featuring Mexican artist Renata Santamarina
eTradeWire News/10838979
PORTLAND, Ore. - eTradeWire -- The Imperfecta Gallery is proud to present Celtae Arboreum. On view from July 2 to Aug 1 2026, this fine art exhibition presents the latest collection by Mexican artist Renata Santamarina.
In Celtae Arboreum works are inspired by Ogham, a celtic tradition which perceives trees as archetypes that deliver a specific message.
Ogham – often referred to as the Celtic Tree Alphabet – is an alphabet found on monumental inscriptions from the fourth to sixth centuries AD and in manuscripts from the sixth to ninth centuries AD. It consists of groups of one to five lines arranged vertically over a stem line, with each group representing a distinct letter.
According to the High Medieval Bratharogam, each of the 20 Ogham letters was assigned a specific tree name (the nin) and a short descriptive phrase (the bratharogam).
Artist Renata Santamarina studied the Ogham philosophy to create the pieces part of this collection. Each work is an invitation to explore how the soul of each represented tree might mirror one's inner self, to perhaps discover some magic within.

The show debuts on July 2, with an Opening Reception from 5 to 8pm.
Gallery Opening Hours: Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm – EXCEPT first Wednesdays (closed) and first Thursdays (open 5-8pm only).
The gallery is located at 809 NW Flanders st, Portland OR.
About the artist
Renata Santamarina has been creating her utopia since 1996. She was born in Mexico City from Catalan and Galician ancestry. The artist has been in a quest for the beauty held in the surreal for as long as she can remember. As a student and keen observator of magic understandings of the world, the artist has found the Soul that holds together her proposal. She communicates through fantasy images to the world, being drawing and painting her main channels. Her visual influences are many. The interest for detail comes from Flemish painting. The development of drawing arises from observing the best ones of the craft like L. Lipton, W. Jamnitzer & E. Haeckel. As for the color, she likes images that have a limited palette, taking as a reference some film directors like Wes Anderson.
