Career Communications Group Announces New Policy for Designating Retired Military Officials
eTradeWire News/10767309
BALTIMORE - eTradeWire -- Career Communications Group, a leader in promoting diversity and recognition within the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, today announced a significant policy update concerning the representation of retired military officials in its publications and recognitions.
In an effort to maintain the highest level of integrity and impartiality in light of the increasing politicization of the military and frequent demotions among military leaders, Career Communications Group will implement a change in how retired military officials are designated. Moving forward, the organization will replace the traditional "RET" (Retired) status with "HPA" (Highest Position Attained), reflecting the highest official position attained by individuals before retiring.
"This update is vital for maintaining the neutrality and respect due to the careers of those who served in the military," said Tyrone Taborn, chief executive officer of Career Communications Group. "By listing the highest position attained, rather than the position at retirement, we aim to present a more accurate account of each individual's service and leadership without the influence of their final rank which may have been subject to politicized changes."
