Call Me Ace Shares How the Global Pandemic & Racial Injustice Affect the Black Experience In Working From Home: Extended
eTradeWire News/10573082
Google will match Ace's $5k donation to FaithInAction.org's Live Free campaign, which reduces gun violence, mass incarceration and the criminalization of Black & Brown communities
OAKLAND, Calif. - eTradeWire -- Billboard-charting and independent artist, Call Me Ace, releases a five-track EP titled, Working From Home: Extended. All songs are written by Ace, produced by J-Dot Music and are available on all streaming platforms.
In February 2020, Call Me Ace's EP Working From Home explored the challenges of pursuing two careers in corporate America and the music industry, simultaneously. Comparatively, Working From Home: Extended contextualizes the definition of "survival" in a global pandemic and an unfair system that disproportionately affects Black communities. Although Ace expresses attempts at perseverance throughout the project, he also reveals unapologetic sentiments of exhaustion, repression and hopelessness.
"My whole life I've known and I've experienced racial discrimination but to see it where it is right now has been a lot. Being someone that is a man of faith, a graduate from an Ivy League school, has a Top 10 MBA, and has worked at prestigious companies—I still know what it's like to be wrongly profiled and stopped by a police officer because I'm matching 'the description.' I feel the responsibility and the calling to use the gifts that God has given me to make positive change and impact in the space that I'm in."

All proceeds from pre-ordered bundles of Working From Home: Extended will be donated to Faith In Action's Live Free campaign, which implements programming to prevent gun violence, mass incarceration and the criminalization of Black and Brown communities. As Global Program Manager of Music Label Development and Partnerships at Youtube, Ace's $5,000+ donation will be doubled by Google's corporate gift matching program—and result in a total of $10,000+ toward Live Free's initiative.
