Bucks County Pennsylvania author Lisa DeAngelis pens dark, coming-of-age book
eTradeWire News/10662712
BUCKINGHAM, Pa. - eTradeWire -- Buckingham author and playwright, Lisa DeAngelis, has authored a new book described as a dark, coming-of-age tale. Published by Regal House Publishing, "Angels Unaware" is a 1930s Depression-era tale set in the mining town of Galen, Pennsylvania and a dilapidated hotel that attracts misfit wayfarers instead of actual paying guests.
Trying to keep her family fed and a roof over their heads, the central character of "Angels Unaware" is Darcy Willickers, a plain girl who lives with her two sisters and unusual mother named Jewel. Together they operate the Hospitality Inn, a hotel that accommodates a string of unusual borders. Darcy's challenges are many and include fending off the local minister's son, who seems to have dark designs of his own. When a handsome Italian immigrant, Luca D'Angeli, comes to town with his father from Naples, Italy, Darcy and Luca find themselves drawn to one another. Luca has no idea that loving Darcy, with her numerous secrets of past murder, violence, and retribution, may well destroy them both.
