PHILADELPHIA - eTradeWire -- Bridge Cable has welcomed a new member to their team, Kevin Kane, who has big plans for the network cabling company. Kevin owned his own alarm business, Kane Security, for twenty seven years before retiring, and then quickly realized that he would not be able to continue to sit still for the years to come. This realization led Kevin to Paul Wallace, the founder and owner of Bridge Cable, who was looking for a business development specialist to join the team. "We seemed to have an immediate connection," Kevin stated about his first meeting with Paul, "...I decided to give it a whirl. So far so good!"

Kevin's main goal as the business development specialist is to find new projects and partners for Bridge Cable. "I would like to help in project management, be involved in the hiring process, talent evaluation, and generally help Mr. Wallace in any way he needs. My experience in the wiring world is vast and can offer many perspectives," Kevin expressed. "My short-term goal is to gain product knowledge and get to know all of the installers on the team very well. Then I can effectively assess situations and utilize our talent pool of great installers and technicians… My long-term goal is to keep Bridge Cable as the #1 structured cabling company in the Philadelphia area, and become #1 in all of the other major cities in the tri-state area."

There are many different strategies and approaches that Kevin uses when working within business development, and trying to find the best possible projects for Bridge. However, his most successful strategy is quite simple, as Kevin encourages business developers to "follow your gut. Now, it requires years of experience, making mistakes and getting your knees skinned, but you learn to zig when most people zag." Kevin also expressed how important it is to stay on top of trends and technology in the telecommunications industry for business developers. When asked about what trends Kevin believes will continue to shape the future of the network cabling world, he shared "Fiber and wireless. As they say in my favorite movie Top Gun, 'We have a need for speed!'"
