Bosco Tech Names Alumnus Adam Uballez Varsity Football Head Coach
eTradeWire News/10717801
ROSEMEAD, Calif. - eTradeWire -- Don Bosco Technical Institute (Bosco Tech) has named alumnus Adam Uballez varsity football head coach. Uballez, a 2012 graduate of the school's Materials Science, Engineering Technology program, started his coaching career at the Tech as a junior varsity offensive coordinator and linebacker coach in 2013. He was promoted to varsity staff in 2015 as linebacker and running back coach.
Since that time, Uballez has coached at several area schools, including Cathedral High School and Wilson High School. This past season, Uballez served as defensive coordinator at San Marino High School. Uballez, who has a bachelor's degree in Sociology from California State University, Northridge, is also a children's social worker with the Los Angeles County Department of Children Family Services.
"I'm very confident that Coach Uballez' dedication to the wellbeing of young people, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and clear vision will be advantageous to our football program and to our school, as a whole," said Tech Athletic Director Vincent Nolasco. "He brings a well-earned balance of coaching experience and is thoroughly knowledgeable about all key elements that comprise a first-rate program. In addition to the enthusiasm and leadership that he brings, his unique perspective as a Tech alumnus means that he understands our students and the demands of our rigorous applied-science college preparatory program."

"I am truly blessed and honored to be able to come home to Bosco Tech as the next head football coach," Uballez recently said. "My primary goal is to provide all our players with the coaching and resources to be successful. I will teach players through my words and actions the values of respect, resilience, empathy, teamwork, and sportsmanship that will benefit them beyond their high school football career."
"My vision for the football program is fourfold: challenge young men to be the best on and off the field; develop a sense of commitment, including a one team, one effort attitude; and help them develop the mindset to never give up; and to win! Go, Tigers!"
The only Catholic applied science high school of its kind in the U.S., Bosco Tech uniquely combines a rigorous college-preparatory program with STEM-based studies. The innovative approach allows students to exceed university admissions requirements while completing extensive integrated coursework in one of six technology and engineering fields, including the newest program, Biological, Medical and Environmental Technology. Bosco Tech has a college acceptance rate of 100 percent, with the majority of graduates pursuing STEM-related post-secondary majors. More information is available
