PLAN C: Biden Runs Barack With Obama For VP, Promises to Step Down

WASHINGTON - eTradeWire -- It is now being reliably reported that Biden's family starts discussing his possible exit plan from the 2024 race (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/joe-biden/bide...):
Members of President Joe Biden's family have discussed what an exit from his campaign might look like.

Although a popular exit strategy has been for Biden to step down and have Vice President Kamala Harris replace him as the Democratic candidate for president, her poll numbers and approval rating have been even lower than Biden's, and many wonder if she would really improve the chances for the election of a Democrat as the next president, much less prevent losses in the U.S. House and Senate.

Many also wonder whether other leading Democrats could beat Trump, especially with such a late start to their campaigning, says public interest law professor John Banzhaf, who suggests consideration of an alternative approach.

Largely ignored by politicians, although it has gotten considerable publicity both here and abroad, and would largely solve the problems of concerns about Biden's electability, popularity, and polling, is "PLAN C."

It has the added advantage of allowing Biden to remain in the race and win, and to then be replaced by the only other Democratic candidate with the proven record and experience to become president, says Banzhaf.

Under Plan C, Harris would step down as the vice presidential candidate (perhaps by offering her a plum spot in the new administration and support for a presidential run in 2028).

Instead, former President Barack Obama would become the Democrat's candidate for vice president; a tactic many experts have concluded is constitutional. [SEE BELOW]

Biden would then announce, before the election, that he will step down shortly after the election, allowing Obama to assume the role of President.

As justifications for making such a decision, he could cite his new bout of Covid and its effect on his campaigning, and/or concerns by wife Jill Biden for his safety on the campaign trail brought on the the recent assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

It would also allow Biden to pardon his son Hunter if necessary to protect him from risks to his life and physical safety if he is sentenced to prison, despite his earlier promise not to do so,

So, in effect, while people would technically be asked to vote for Biden, they would in effect be voting to defeat Trump with Obama; a much stronger candidate than either Biden or Harris.

Many publications, both here and abroad, have discussed this tactic, suggesting it is at least worth considering, and the best of various weak Plan B scenarios.
