Event to take place as part of new financial literacy series
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - eTradeWire -- Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to families and children, is offering a new financial literacy series for families in Jacksonville called Money & You: Getting Your Finances Together. The next event will take place Friday, Aug. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at King Solomon United Baptist Church.
The new Money & You series, offered in tandem with the nonprofit's area financial partners, including JPMorgan Chase and Fifth Third Bank, provides parents with guidance and resources for various financial topics that include budgeting and how to build your savings. A light dinner will be served during the events, and while parents gain information from expert speakers, their children can enjoy games and fun while supervised by background-checked volunteers.

The theme of the Aug. 16 event is "Budgeting Basics 101," where participants will hear from Patrice Fuller, a vice president and community manager at JPMorgan Chase, on how to create and manage a budget, understand income and expenses, and develop strategies for saving money.
Fuller is responsible for connecting communities in Jacksonville with the resources available at JPMorgan Chase. She provides financial health education with the goal of encouraging higher levels of access to banking and related services. By combining her personal and professional experience, Fuller's purpose is to build trust, educate and drive sustainable change within the community. During her presentation, Fuller does not promote Chase products.
"We're grateful to work in tandem with our financial partners JPMorgan Chase and Fifth Third Bank as part of the Money & You series," said Megan Rose, CEO of Better Together. "Navigating parenthood can be difficult, not to mention the additional challenges that come with managing a family budget. Thanks to our collaboration with our financial partners, we can provide Better Together families with the resources they need to help them thrive."
