Better Together, Kissimmee Fellowship Church to host community job fair Feb. 21 in Kissimmee
eTradeWire News/10792406
KISSIMMEE, Fla. - eTradeWire -- Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to families and children, is partnering with Kissimmee Fellowship Church to host a community job fair for area residents from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21.
Better Together's jobs initiative is a vital part of the nonprofit's mission to help families thrive and build strong communities. The organization helps parents who are going through a difficult time to keep their kids out of foster care, find work and address the root causes of their struggle so that they can reunite as a family with the tools and support system to thrive. The jobs initiative was created to help the 76% of parents in the program who can trace the root cause of their struggle to job loss. The job fairs are open to all job seekers in the community.
To date, the program has served more than 15,000 children and kept 98% of families served through mentoring and hosting out of the state system, while helping 40,000 job seekers across 24 states find employment. At job fairs hosted by Better Together, two-thirds of attendees get a job interview, and 1 in 4 receive a job offer on the spot. Some 70% find work within six weeks.
