eTradeWire -- Bethesda Academy, an independent day school for boys in grades six through 12, celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2025 with two events: the 11th Annual Scholarship Gala and an outdoor commencement ceremony.

The Scholarship Gala was held at The Palmetto Club at the Landings and served as a fundraiser for the school's Gateway Scholarship Program, which provides financial aid to nearly 90% of students.

Sociologist Dr. Bertice Berry, Ph. D., a best-selling author and award-winning lecturer, delivered the keynote address at the gala. Berry has published 14 books and received accolades for her writing and presentations on topics including race, gender, sociology, and leadership.

Gerald Thomas III, a 2016 Bethesda graduate and a sports reporter for the Tallahassee Democrat through the USA Today Florida Network, was the guest speaker at the commencement ceremony. Thomas is a multiple award-winning journalist for his coverage of Florida A&M University athletics.

The graduation ceremony for the 15 members of the Class of 2025 took place on Bethesda Academy's campus. It was preceded by the Reflection Walk, a traditional stroll across the school's grounds to significant locations. This year, it was made more poignant by the memory of Andrew Adkins, a classmate who passed away on December 30, 2023.

Quentin Brooks, the class of 2025 valedictorian, plans to attend Savannah State University on a golf scholarship. Salutatorian Jonathan O'Kee will attend Georgia Southern University

"As we celebrated the highly anticipated graduation of the Bethesda Academy Class of 2025, I was honored to join our faculty and staff in congratulating them and honoring their dedication and achievements," said Dr. Christian Proctor, President of Bethesda Academy.
