Announcing 'Her Song' Feature Film

eTradeWire News/10770774
Film slated for production this summer in the French Pyrenees boasts international cast, acclaimed executive producers.

NEW YORK - eTradeWire -- Academy-Award-winner JAMES IVORY (Call Me by Your Name) and ERIC GRUENDEMANN (producer of the 90s Emmy-winning series Xena: Warrior Princess) team up to Executive-Produce Her Song, a comedy-drama feature film in French and English written and to be directed by JOHN M. KELLER, an American screenwriter, director and novelist.

They are joined by KALKI KOECHLIN, the Bollywood phenomenon and Filmfare award-winner, in her first lead role in French and American English.

Olivia, an American novelist—portrayed by Koechlin—seeks to narrate the story of her grandmother, who fled Paris during the Nazi invasion of WWII. As Olivia returns to her ancestral village to retrace her grandmother's journey, she encounters a talented Frenchwoman whose life story provides an abundance of narrative details she guiltily "steals" for her novel. When the coronavirus pandemic hits, Olivia witnesses the sudden exodus of people from French cities to villages. Wide-eyed, she observes events strikingly reminiscent of WWII unfolding before her, and wonders if she might be at least somewhat responsible.
