Discover Why This Election Could Be the Last for Some Americans
RALEIGH, N.C. - eTradeWire -- As we approach another presidential election, many face uncertainty and anxiety about the future.
Amidst uncertainty and division, the message of the Feast of Trumpets is one of endings, introspection, reconciliation, personal and communal repentance, repairing relationships, and returning to God! With this in mind, the anticipation of Jesus' return—as the fulfillment of the Feast of the Trumpets—is not just about knowing His arrival is imminent; it's about living in a state of preparation and faith, regardless of who wins the election.
The Feast of Trumpets, outlined in Leviticus 23:24, is a solemn assembly commemorating the blowing of trumpets to prepare for the end of the Jewish year. This feast not only anticipates the start of the Jewish High Holy Days but also serves as a powerful foreshadowing of Jesus' return.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, we read that the Lord will descend with a loud command, accompanied by the trumpet of God. This scripture paints a vivid picture of the future resurrection and the promise of eternal life for believers.
Historically, the shofar, a ram's horn, was blown to announce significant events, call the people to repentance, and affirm God's sovereignty. With so many claiming this could be the end of democracy, it is comforting to remember that God is sovereign above all. In ancient Israel, this day included sacrifices at the Temple in Jerusalem, blending joyous celebration with a serious focus on preparation for divine judgment.
Shofar blasts remain central to the celebrations, with traditional services incorporating special prayers and reflections. The Tashlich ceremony symbolizes the casting away of sins, while festive meals include symbolic foods that represent hope and renewal.

The Feast of Trumpets is our reminder of the urgency of faithful readiness to serve God. In the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), Jesus urges us to be prepared for His return, to watch, be ready, and live with eager expectation.
As Americans prepare to elect a new president, we encourage you to place your hope in Jesus—not in a politician—for your life and future. In Christ, there is no division; we are all one body, united in His love and truth. While politics create division, Jesus calls us to be united in His one Spirit and reconciled to one another. Let us focus on what brings us together as believers.
