eTradeWire News/10804756
Cadcorp cloud hosted GIS and web mapping provides self-service access to property information and tenant service requirements
STEVENAGE, U.K. - eTradeWire -- Alliance Homes has selected location intelligence company Cadcorp to supply its cloud hosted Geographical Information System (GIS) and web mapping. The corporate GIS contract includes Cadcorp SIS Desktop, Cadcorp SIS WebMap, Cadcorp SIS WebMap for Power BI, and a hosted spatial database, as a fully cloud managed service. Cadcorp is providing a full onboarding service, including project management, training and database configuration.
Data and business intelligence are a key part of Alliance Homes' strategy. They are committed to improving the use and quality of their data to improve customer insights and drive first-rate service delivery. To achieve this, the self-serve GIS and web mapping with Ordnance Survey® data will be available to all employees, enabling them to visualise property information geographically.

SIS Desktop will be used for creating and preparing geographic information and analysing property stock, repairs scheduling, grounds maintenance contracting, portfolio reassessment, and new development site selection. The platform will facilitate the monitoring of environmental trends and their connection to specific property issues like damp and mould.
SIS WebMap is an interactive website for sharing maps and business data on the intranet, internet, and mobile devices. Multiple maps can be created to meet specific requirements of the Business Intelligence, Development, Tenancy, Repairs, Maintenance, and Neighbourhood teams. These include addressing damp and mould issues and prioritising energy efficiency investments. The SIS WebMap Edit option will allow internal users to create and maintain spatial data effectively.
The integration with Microsoft Power BI will provide Alliance Homes with greater insight into its data and highlight opportunities for improving efficiencies throughout the business.

Alastair Sneddon, Head of Data & Business Insights at Alliance Homes commented: "We had the requirement for a self-service GIS solution that would allow our teams to leverage geographical information and facilitate quicker, more informed decision-making. Cadcorp software, services and data, combined with their housing sector experience, is the best overall match for our requirements."
Housing associations and land and property organisations are realising the benefits of GIS for all phases of asset management and maintenance. These range from negotiating grounds maintenance contracts to ensuring the sustainability of stock performance and planning improvements in the community. To learn more visit https://cdcp.io/lp
