Alaska's Largest Telecommunications Company Shares Taking 2,000 Employees "Remote-First"
eTradeWire News/10676540
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - eTradeWire -- While a reported 50% of employers are requiring or starting to plan for their employees to return to the office full-time, GCI, Alaska's largest telecommunications company, is bucking that trend. Instead of forcing all employees to "come back in the office," the billion-dollar company uses a people-first approach to remote-first work.
According to Brad Spees, Vice President & Operating Group Manager for GCI Business, "GCI has always been a people-first company. So naturally, with any transformation, especially one as large as moving to a distributed workforce, we know we have to engage with our employees to understand how they want to work. I believe any firm, no matter their size, needs to involve their staff early on to ensure a successful transition."
On April 27th at 2 p.m. ET, GCI's workforce transformation leader, Brad Spees, will be a guest on Achurch Consulting's Critical Conversations webinar series: How Alaska's Largest Telecommunications Company Transitioned to a Hybrid Workforce. He will discuss how GCI approached such a massive undertaking, the lessons they learned throughout this transition, and where GCI is headed as they look toward the future of work.

"When GCI came to us, we were excited to work with a company that wanted to explore the purpose behind how their people wanted to work. We continue to see organizations across all industries implementing return-to-office plans with little to no consideration for why they're bringing employees together in a particular way or on a certain schedule. GCI leadership continually explores their 'why' and actively invests in efforts to facilitate better employee engagement," adds Achurch Consulting's CEO, Rebecca Achurch, PgMP, PMP, CSM, CAE,
All are invited to sign up and attend the free virtual webinar. Registration is required. Interested attendees should use this link to register: https://bit.ly/AchurchGCIRemoteFirst.
